Abstract: In the field of modeling of solidification processes, there is much debate between the various numerical techniques used to solve the conservation equation. This paper shows that, more than the numerical technique, the issue is related to the enmeshment used:structured or unstructured meshes. The advantages versus inconveniences of both enmeshment types are discussed in the present contribution.
