Abstract: In manufacturing ,business operations on the top floor are becoming more entwined with actions taking place on the shop floor integrating these floors means taking them to the next level of communication. Thus allowing groups within the companies to use information from one source and combine it with information from another via software functions to deliver the better products and processes that today's customers demand. This article briefly discusses the software product of several companies that allow these objectives to be reached. For example, tracking software can reduce the amount of labor required to gather and store manufacturing. This same software is also used for tracking the part after it leaves the manufacturer.
