The IIF is a professional body to serve and represent the Indian foundry industry. It has 26 Chapters across India. Its Indian Foundry Journal is well referred by researchers. The annual Indian Foundry Congress organized by IIF draws thousands of participants. Its Foundry Informatics Centre (foundryinfo-india.org) and National Centre for Technical Services (iifncts.org) provide useful information and services.

IISc is the premier research institute in India, and has a strong group of research faculty in Mechanical as well as Materials Engineering departments, who have greatly contributed to the development of metal casting science. The National Facility for Semi Solid Forming conducts cutting edge research in net-shape thixo-casting process for automotive applications.
Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Mumbai
IIT Bombay is among the top five engineering institutes in India. Both Mechanical and Metallurgical Engineering departments carry out research and teaching in metal casting area. The E-Foundry lab has developed several innovative experimental setups for studies in metal flow and solidification. Its free online learning resources attract thousands of users from all over the world.
Aluminium Casters' Association of India, Pune
ALUCAST has its members manufacturers of aluminium castings, die casting machines and peripherals, dies, and others connected with the process. It conducts the annual event Alucast, and training programmes in association with Buhler Group. It also publishes a bi-monthly magazine, industry directory, and trade reports.
India Lead Zinc Development Association, New Delhi
The ILZDA works toward development of the market and applications of zinc and lead alloys, and dissemination of related technical information. It regularly organizes seminars, conferences and training programmes. It works in close cooperation with International Lead Zinc Research Association, Die Casting Society of India, and other bodies.
National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology, Ranchi
The NIFFT offers advance diploma, B.Tech and M.Tech degrees in foundry/forge, manufacturing, and materials engineering. The Foundry Technology department has sand laboratory for testing of sands and binders; and foundry workshop for melting, moulding, and casting of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys. The institute also has Information Technology and CAD/CAM centres.
PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore
The Production Engineering department at PSG Tech offers B.E and M.E. degrees, as well as engages in research and industrial interactions. It has well equipped laboratories in CAD/CAM, casting, welding, product design, rapid prototyping, machine vision and testing. It sister institute, the PSG Polytechnic College, offers a diploma in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Foundry Technology.
Tool and Gauge Manufacturers Association of India, Bangalore
TAGMA works closely with the manufacturers of tooling, especially dies and molds for metal casting, plastic injection molding and other sectors. It regularly conducts seminars and workshops to disseminate relevant technical knowledge. Its flagship event Die Mould India draws thousands of visitors from all over the world. It also regularly publishes industry newsletters and study reports.
Tool Room Training Centres, MSME, New Delhi
The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, through its development organization, has set up tool room training centres across the country to provide relevant training as well as manufacturing services. These are located at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Indore, Jallandhar, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Mysore, and Nagpur.
